MICHAEL SONG, Head Coach
Michael Song has been playing lacrosse since his childhood in Virginia, and he has coached the sport for over a decade to youth through varsity high school players. As a player, Michael was a midfielder for the Korea National Team in the 2002 World Lacrosse Championships, starting all games including Sweden, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Wales, and Ireland. Previously, Michael attended Lehigh University, the St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, VA and the Pomfret School in Connecticut.

Coach Song currently heads Long Beach Poly High School, a top 10 sports school in the country according to ESPN. Recently in 2016, the program was named a CIF sport.
MATT CUNNIFFE, Assistant Coach
Coach Cunniffe comes to Long Beach Poly from West Roxbury, MA, where he graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in 2003. At Catholic Memorial, Matt was a four-year starter and two-time captain, leading the team to a Massachusetts State Lacrosse playoffs. Coach Cunniffe then went on to the College of Holy Cross, playing defense, long stick midfield, and short stick defensive midfield, where he received the Martha S. Lemley Unsung Hero Award in 2007, as well as earning a degree in sociology.
Prior to Poly, Coach Cunniffe has coached the Medfield Youth Lacrosse program and was head JV coach at Catholic Memorial from 2013-16.
TONY BELLMAR, Assistant Coach, Lacrosse Coordinator
Mr. Bellmar is a veteran at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, being involved with the school’s athletic program for more than 20 years. Tony coaches softball, assists the football program, and is a certified lacrosse, basketball, and football referee.
Mr. Bellmar serves as the lacrosse program’s coordinator and coaching assistant.
